Where to Create Quality Graphics for Your Business

Where to Create Quality Graphics for Your Business

For your massage or bodywork business, you may be called to create graphics for various reasons. After all, having quality logos and designs is a big part of what will help your business look cohesive when you’re branding.

Unless you’re going to outsource your design, you may have the responsibility of creating the following things:

  • Business logos
  • Business cards
  • Brochures
  • Flyers
  • Coupons or referral cards
  • Postcards
  • Social media graphics
  • Website graphics

It can certainly be overwhelming to think about how you’re going to make all of these things! But, if you know where to go, it can be straightforward.

Consider Your Needs

If you don’t feel graphically (or artistically) inclined, then you may want to find an expert to complete these jobs for you. It’s easy to make trades with graphic designers for bigger jobs like your logo, business cards, brochures, or website graphics.

The downfall with this is that anytime you want to change something, you’d have to have your graphic artists do it for you. This is not so practical for flyers, postcards, or promotional social media graphics because these can change as often as weekly, monthly, or seasonally.

You may have a lot of promotions or want a significant social media presence. In this case, it would be in your best interests to develop some graphic design skills yourself.

Luckily for you, the software available today is so user-friendly and intuitive. So it’s not nearly as complicated as photo editing software once was.

If you’re looking for a fantastic and easy-to-use software that meets all of your graphic needs, I recommend Canva.

It’s perfect if you’re new to design. Plus, you can start (and continue) using their service for absolutely free. (I had a free account for about a year before switching over to a Pro account.)

Canva Types of Templates

Perfectly-Sized Templates

The first thing I love about Canva is the 8000+ templates they provide for every occasion.

Have you ever tried to add a Facebook cover photo only to realize that it looked blurry or didn’t fit the way you wanted it to?

That’s because the photo was not the proper size. In Canva, you can create or choose a template with the exact dimensions that you need.

Canva has tons of templates for all the social media platforms as well as for logos, resumes, flyers, business cards, etc. And you can always manually fill in dimensions for a more custom fit. If you’re not sure what sizes would best suit your project, Canva has up-to-date dimensions for each platform.)

With the Pro account, you can also resize your graphics with one click!

For instance, when I make social media graphics for my business, I start with a horizontal You Tube template (which also works well for Twitter and Facebook). Then, I change it to a square Instagram photo, and finally to a vertical Pinterest photo. This makes it super simple to use the same design across several platforms.

With the free version, you’d have to create brand new graphics to your size specifications. So the Pro account certainly saves a lot time.

Photos, Graphics, and Icons

Canva also provides a database of hundreds of thousands of photos, graphics, and icons. With the free account, you have access to use their selection of creative commons photos. But with the Pro account, you will be able to use many more images and graphics!

And if you’d like further options, you can always buy Premium photos through their cheap and easy licensing agreements.

Canva Export Options

Export Options

There are tons of options for how you can export your graphics. I most often use the .jpeg option. But there are also PNG, PDF, GIF, MP4, and more. You can even publish your work directly to specific platforms if you feel that would be more convenient!

You can easily share your work with members of your team for viewing, editing, and final approval. You can approve or deny changes and make comments in intuitive workflow functionality.

Easy Brand Identity

Canva has a function called “Brand Kit” where you can set your brand colors, fonts, and logo. When creating your graphics, they’ll automatically suggest your brand attributes.

The color function of “Brand Kit” is available for the free account, but the font and logo function is available once you have a Pro account.
